Pronovost Dealers

I live in Western New York and am having a heck of a time finding a Pronovost dealer that is not looking to rape me. The dealer I spoke with in vermont wants almost $3000. plus shipping for a Puma 74 with Hyd rotate and angle.

I was quoted just last week $3600 for the same Puma delivered to NH. The price for Pronovost products has increased by 1/3 to 1/2 in the last 3 years due to price increases in steel and transportation. That is the reason I was given for why my dealer switched to Blizzard products.

My personal opinion is the the Puma's are built extremely solid and probably worth the money. I already have a 64" with hydraulics.

I bought a Puma 72" for 1,700 $ in the fall of '05.

I also got my Puma 64 from Gary's on Rte 31 Cicero, NY. 450EXC posted his number. I bought mine with the tractor in 04. Don't know about prices now but may be worth a call. He's also a Blizzard dealer (at least for plows).

I picked my Puma 54 up at White's Farm Supply in Canastota a couple years ago. It wouldn't hurt to give them a call and get a price.

Also, check out Wallace's reply to my "Sick fo the snow" post in the Mahindra forum. I don't know what brand he sells but apparently he's pricing his blowers to move.

3000 + freight ? does that include hyd rotate ? That can't be right . what model what are the specifics?

My quote was for $3600 for the 72" Puma with hydraulic chute rotation and manual deflection. The $3600 included freight to the NH dealer. He wanted to sell me a Blizzard so I'll bet he marked up the Puma a few hunderd to discourage me. I am sure there are better deals out there but $3000 + freight is about right. 4 years ago I paid $2000 for a 64" Puma with hydraulic chute rotation and prices have increased significantly sinced then.

A volume Puma dealer should be able to offer a better price since shipping many units is a lot cheaper per unit than shipping a single unit.

I've narrowed it down to a Puma 74 with Hyd rotation and deflection incl shipping for $2750 or Puma 84 with Hyd rotation and deflection for $2900. I am leaning towards the 84 since the value is higher, my only hesitation is wether my 4320 Deere with a rated 48 hp will have any trouble running the 84" blower. Puma's site recommends 40 to 75 horepower but the dealer says that it will run on 35 hp.

Any and all thoughts are greatly appreciated!

I don't think you would have any problems running it on your 48hp tractor. When I first bought my Puma 64 I ran it with a B7500 Kubota which is a 20hp machine and never had a power issue.
