I agree, tip speed is important. Bigger fan the better....but don't forget depth of impeller blade, too.

Forgot to post this....To better illustrate the benefit of tip speed, my dad made a 1:1.4 "Chaincase" to increase the PTO Speed...got it up to about 750 RPM by my calculations and only then did that blower huff snow....Same Blower, Results were Night & Day.
