I have not needed this method, but just curious of anyone has used or tried this method. I've posted this on the Chinese forum as it is more of an issue there than with the Mahindras, but did not get any replies there. I understand and agree that ether/starting fluid is a no no for hard starting diesels, yet I've seen seasoned (notice I avoided saying "old" ) truck drivers use it. My MF intake manifold has a removable plug where, stated in the owners manual, a shot of propane can be used to assist in a stubborn starting motor. Anyone tried this on their tractor?

I don't think it is a good idea, as I would be afraid the electric heat coil could ignight the propane in the intake manifold, creating a very dangerous condition. Don't want to see anyone get hurt.

Thats true about the heating coil. My MF has no glow plugs or pre heater in the intake. Do all Mahindra's have either a pre heater or glow plugs?

The ag utility Mahindra made tractors all have intake preheaters, and the Mitsubishi made compacts all have glow plugs.
