I've got a Berco snowthrower and cab on my LT166 that I've been using for a couple winters here in Northern Ohio. I use a small electric 12V heater, but as you may well know you can't draw much wattage off these garden tractor 12V systems, so it really doesn't help much. However I can tell the difference. I set it on a folded towel on the hood right behind the steering wheel, pointing toward me, and hold it there with a bungee cord.
I've been reading posts here dating back 5 years about the small propane heaters made for golf carts, tents, etc. Various models you all are using in the (most often metal and glass) cabs on your larger tractors. I'd like some input on just how close one can be to these small propane heaters. My hands are just inches away from the electric while steering, but of course its meager output is not a danger.
About the only other place I might be able to set a heater, if its burner pointed upward, might be between my feet on the space in front of the seat. I keep the seat all the way back, so there is some space there to fasten something. But I am concerned about being too close to the burner in either instance. Has anyone used one of the propane heaters on this small a tractor, inside a vinyl cab? If so I'd like to hear which model, where you put it, and how well it works.
