When working with the loader, one needs a proper ballast out back :)

A tractor that size should be able to lift 3 times that.
Nice pics though! :D

That hi volume materials bucket makes those 30+" maple rounds look smaller than they actually are. I had a whole bucket full of those in earlier but didn't take a photo. I did take one of a much larger crotch section on the hoe. I'll have to dig that one up

Super, I LOVE seeing smaller tractors doing BIG jobs! :D

I'd be afraid of that ballast moving around.

Here's mine with a ballast that won't move. It's very well balanced with about the same amount of stuff (or more) in the carryall as in the FEL.

I thought that buckert looked big, but that it just was the perspective...

Actually the hoe is the ballast, that twig is just decoration... :)

I really need to get some log tongs....

Please just remember that as far as center of gravity is concerned that log's weight is on the point where you hooked the chain. Just because it is hanging low doesn't mean it can't swing you over. I honestly can't imagine how high that is raising your center of gravity.. Maybe around your neck?

Just so nobody gets the wrong idea:
I posted this in good humor. I wasn't really suggesting that hanging the trunk of a big maple tree off your backhoe was a practical solution to the ballast problem ;) It is also indeed, one large pendulum.

I sure wasn't having any traction problems though!

The one just before that was much larger. I had to lower the dipper down and raise the boom first because the boom cylinder couldn't lift it. Once I got the boom up, then I could lift it with the dipper and bucket curl. I'll post that one tonight. Normally I drag them but these I wanted as clean as possible for milling.

Dragging logs is an absolute mistake unless you have snowcover.

Dirt wrecks every saw blade that you can imagine.
