I'm changing my hydraulic oil on my 2006 Jinma 284 & don't have any info in my manual on the proper proceedure of filling and measuring my hydraulic oil. I did it yesterday and when I filled my reservoir with the FEL down on the ground, I ended up having it overflow when I operated the steering and FEL. I also had it spew out of the front right side area of the tractor somewhere above my starter. I didn't notice any valaves leaking and assume it's somehow related to the over flow of the Hydro oil. I currently can't see it spewing out anymore from the air vent behind my seat or the right front area that I mentioned above.

Can someone please tell me how to make sure I have the proper amount via the proper measuring procedure.

First, there should be no fluid leaking from anywhere.

Second, leaking fluid around the starter has to be a leaking seal on a Quick Connect, fitting, or valve.

Third, to check the level put the FEL on the ground, 3 point down, and remove the dipstick, and reinstall without threading in to check the level.

Thanks Chris, I assumed it was probably a quick connect seal, but I wasn't sure. The valve used to seriously leak but I replaced it with a new aftermarket valve that works great. Thank you for the info, I believe I possibly also had some air in the lines and possibly that caused the oil to overflow at the point where I have the air vent behind my seat. It overflowed only when I placed the FEL on the ground.

Remember that if you put the FEL on the ground or the 3 point down with the engine off it will overflow. These are 2 way cylinders and it returns the fluid to the reservoir. If the engine is not running it will not be sucking fluid up to fill the other side of the cylinder and will equate in too much fluid and a overfill situation.
