Proud new owner of a Ford 1600 4x4

I just picked up a very nice Ford 1600 4x4 with a loader and power steering. It is in very nice shape, but before I put it to use I'm going through everything. The first item I need to address is the broken light switch. I can't seem to find a replacement switch specific for my 1600? Can someone steer me in the right direction to find a new one or can I just buy a generic replacement?

Nice find. You do not see those often. My 2WD, 1600 has been fantastic. For the light switch, I would get a heavy duty switch from Napa. Some friendly advice, be easy with the front axle. Replacement parts are very tough to locate. Also, check the 12 bolts that hold the front frame together. They can loosen up. Otherwise, real simple and reliable machines.

I will plan a trip to NAPA....thanks. The tractor is well taken care of and i will be easy on the front axle and check the loader mounts. i did find something very interesting tonight; someone painted the rear fenders and put them on the wrong sides when they put it back together. Easy fix, but not sure how they made that mistake when the red marker lights are facing forward now.

The diesel runs great with only 900 hours; power steering with a ROPS.

3,600 hours on mine...ex DPW mower...great tractors. Sure, the loader mounts should be tight, but my 1600 with out a loader has the 12 bolts. They are above and forward the front tires, and are what the suitcase weights would hang from.
