Hello, stopped by yesterday with a question about the price of a 2910 ford tractor. Thanks Fawken, Smstonypoint and messmaker for the reply. Today I went and paid the balance on my first tractor. I was running it a while. The clutch, brakes, tranny, Hi and Lo, and the power steering all work great. The power steering reservoir was low maybe one pint. I thought it was empty. Were gonna tow it home tomorrow. Boy am I happy. Like a big weight been lifted off my shoulder. Was worried about buying it. Guess I was worried for nothing. Thanks again for the help. I am the owner of T.P.Tree Service. Been in business for 21 years. Been doing trees for almost 30 years. I own a 2000 altec bucket truck, a 1973 C-60 dump truck, 2 chippers, a stump grinder and now a 1987 ford tractor. Can't wait to get a loader on the front. Worked some jobs where we had a tractor with a loader on the job and boy did it make the job so much easier loading wood. Gonna be 53 in 2 days. My back ain't getting no younger. Guess I got my birthday present early. Can't wait to get a picture of my tractor up. It ain't much but its better than nothing. tptree.

Congratulations! That was indeed a really good deal. Before you get a loader, I'd get a good, heavy box-blade to keep some traction on a 2WD tractor. And if the area you work is uneven or hilly get some fluid added to the tubes. You saved enough money, IMHO, to get new rubber while you're at it since you are going to use it in your business. No sense risking a tire failure on a customer's site. Good luck!
