I'm looking at two used snow blowers and want to try to gather some more information before I choose.
They're both in good condition, the Provonost P 680 may be in somewhat better shape than the 72" Luck Now.
The Luck Now is asking $1250. and the Provonost is asking $1800.

If you've had any experience with either of these brands, please give me your opinions.

Thanks...Keegs

I have a Provonost. Bought it new about 20 years ago. Very well made. Shear bolts and a master link are the only things I've ever replaced. And those were due to picking up rock that was a little too big.

They are both manufactured in Canada and replacement parts should not be an issue, personally I feel the provnost generally is engineered better and the lucnows are more of a basic farm build.

Are they both manual or hydraulic chutes are they comparable option wise?

Thanks Gents... Both have manual chutes. They seem to be priced right as far as I can tell.

I have a Pronovost and am very pleased with it after several winters. I researched a bunch of brands before I bought it and this one came out on top for me. Good luck

Last summer I bought a Puma like the one in Deerslayer's sig line. It was in need of paint and I think the final price was $1,500. We didn't get a lot of snow this winter, but it was fun to use on the snow that did fall here. I added a car seat motor for rotating the chute and a linear actuator for up/down. Really glad I have it. It's the only snow blower of any type - including walk behind - I've ever owned, so I can't do a comparison with anything else.

Around here the Pronovost is by far the most wildly used.
Rugged, good design and any maintenance parts are 'off the shelf' and not special order or captive parts.

Thanks again Gents... I looked at both yesterday. The Pronovost was the heavier of the two but the LuckNow wasn't a bad unit. They're both pretty simple machines.

Just made an offer for the Provonost.

Provonost by far is the better blower. As stated before one is like an old piece of farm machinery and the other a fine tuned working machine. Did you look at the paddles? Someone spent some time to make them the way they should be. The gap between the paddles and rim?
