Has anyone other than myself built a set of adjustable pallet forks for their PT???. If so ....post a few pictures... I've always wondered why power-trac has never offered adjustable forks for the 400 and 180 machines

nice job.

I have always wondered that as well. I think PT was trying to maximize lift capability by minimizing the weight of the pallet forks (or maximze profit by minimizing separate parts...)

My pallet forks alwys seem to be the wrong size for every pallet that I have handled. Always end up having to grab a pallet slightly off center, which means that if it is a marginal load for the PT's capability it can be somewhat exciting.

Nothing like watching a $1400 piece of machinery bounce up and down a couple times and almost dropping it...

Tim,

I completely agree. If it is any consolation, I find that I am always adjusting my adjustable forks. Perhaps, if I were always loading and unloading the same items, it wouldn't be necessary.

Of course, watching a pro lift my 1445 off the semi with a set of forks rated at 4000lbs will always be memorable. (Half of me was hoping it was up to the task, and the other half was chanting "Please don't drop it.") Apparently, with the eight foot fork extensions on, the load weighed in right at 4000lbs.

All the best,

Peter
