PT422/425 differences

Ok folks,
I just got off the phone with Scott Gentry at PT. He just described all of the differences between the 422 and 425. From what I can see, the value is probably there in the 2500 price increase for the 425. This list shows the upgrades on the 425 from the 422.

1. 2 steering cylinders, instead of 1
2. Beefier articulation linkage - makes for an overall stronger machine.
3. 25hp
4. Larger wheel motors - more torque for slope work and bucket loading.
5. Hydraulic pump is larger.
6. 7" longer - makes it generally easier to work on the machine - probably will move the COG back a little further, altho he didn't state this.
7. Larger oil cooler.
8. Larger cooling fan.
9. 8" higher lift capability.
10. ROPS with canopy.

He was a very helpful, pleasant guy. He kind of reluctantly offered up that many folks who buy the 422 later kind of wish they had bought the 425.

Even tho my lot is small, I have a lot of landscaping and a slope to deal with. I'm leaning more and more toward the 425.

Scott gave you good advise.
I have the 425 (newer type) and have only 1 1/3 acre that I have moved the same dirt many times. Landscaping with the 425 makes life easier and much more fun. You will tend to do more projects as you have the ability with the 425. The list will grow and the projects will increase in complexity.
