It is amazing how 2 tons of gravel doesnt look like much till you have to move it by hand. That is one nice trailer. Is it a new one? (Toys) Tools, are so much fun!

Yeah, 2 tons of rock is only a couple yards or so. That would have taken all day with my wheel barrow. It took me a half an hour with the tractor. 8 trips around the garages and back.

The trailer is about a year old. It is an 18' car hauler. I like it very much. It is very versatile. I've hauled all kinds of stuff besides the tractor. I really like the all steel deck. Sand and rocks don't slip through the cracks like a wood deck. The one thing I have to watch is the deck can get slick. Even though it is diamond plated, if it gets wet or snowy, I wouldn't drive up and unload on it. It is too easy to spin the tires and move sideways without noticing. I always put it on level ground and keep the Van attached when loading and unloading large loads. Another nice thing is the wood sides are removable, so if I can get close enough to the dump spot, I just shovel it off the sides by pushing(hey, I'm not opposed to work, I just want to get the job done fast). I can load a few scoops over the wood sides too, and then dump some on by driving up. Just right for our needs. Also, if I need to haul some specialty stuff, I can weld braces directly to the deck and torch and grind them off later. I was even considering using it for a float in a parade next year by welding handrails and benches on it, then removing them when done. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Great! Still using it. Used it last month for 12 tons of limestone and 100 sixty pound sacks of cement, and 8 eighty pound bags of mortar, and about 50 8x8x16 cement blocks for our garage addition project. A friend has it this week to haul his tractor to and from a repair shop. I've loaned it to a car collector a few times to retrieve antique cars. And I haul about 5 loads of firewood on it a year. Overall, it's a very handy thing to have around.

Another user was discussing unloading directly from a trailer VS dumping the load and then picking it up. Rather than linking to a bunch of pictures individually, I bumped the thread so it would be easier to find at the top of a forum.
