I have an iseki tu220f that is a great tractor. the only thing is that when using my flail or rotary mower, when i depress the clutch the momentum of the mower pushes the tractor along by forcing the wheels to turn. is this normal? and if it is can i buy anything that will stop this happening. if it is not normal what can i do about it?

It is normal with these smaller Japanese tractors which don't have a live or independent PTO. Instead, it's driven off gearing after the transmission (as I understand it) so as the tractor rolls so does the PTO turn. The way around this safety problem is to install a one-way PTO clutch on your tractors shaft. I've seen these listed on E-bay for as little as $15.00 but they are normally around $65.00.

I purchased an over running clutch from Agri Supply for my TS1610. It makes work faster as I can change gears from forward to reverse and stop the tractor while my rotary cutter is still turning.

These cost about $24.

Rich, did you install it yourself.... and if so, just how big of a job was it?

Yes I installed this. These fit on the PTO output shaft. They are made to be installed and removed as needed. There is also a more expensive version that is quick release.

I don't take mine off the PTO shaft, but from other posts the model I have takes about 15 minutes to remove.

I just picked up my TS1910 today and watched them install the PTO clutch. It took about 5 minutes to install, probably about the same to remove. Can't wait to get home and try this thing out.

Thanks for the advice guys. I have now bought myself an over running clutch with quick release and it has made my work faster and the tractor safer to use. It cost me €125 so wasn't cheap but i think it was worth it. once again thanks for the help.
