I know there are other threads about PTO Concrete Mixers, and I've read those. I wanted to start a new thread, because I am in the market for one and thought maybe there is some new information out there.
I bought a mixer (French built) I am about to return because while it says it has a 1/3 yard capacity, that must be if you could tilt it all the way up and fill the drum completely full. When I tested it with water in the normal mixing position, it could only hold thirty some gallons - in the 4 to 5 cubic foot range. It also has a problem that the drive line to U-joint angle at the mixer is too tight in the mixing position. What I'd like to find out is:
1. Has anyone seen a PTO mixer that will truely mix 1/3 yard of concrete?
2. Any idea what they cost?
3. Has anyone seen one with a two-way hydraulic cylinder? Most seem to have a one-way to pull it up, and use gravity to dump - can't cycle when empty or nearly empty
4. Is anyone familiar with the Eagle EA320 Tractor Mounted Cement Mixer. It claims to mix 1/3 yard. I also wonder if it suffers from the tight drive line to U-joint angle.
Any dealers out there that sell a good mixer?
Thanks for any help,
Doug
