This past summer, the pto on my M-F 275 popped out of gear while mowing. Finished the year w/bungee cord holding pto lever in place. It took very little tension to work. I understand the problem that is probably causing this. My question is: is this something I can do myself? I have no shop that tractor fits into. My mechanic experience is extensive, but shade-tree: replace rod bearings, rings on old M-F 85, split same tractor for clutch, pressure plate replace, waterpump replaced on the 275, swapped some car engines, etc. Nearest dealer is quite far, and charges arm & leg to come pick it up. Neither my truck nor trailer are rated for 275’s weight. Can I take this on w/common tools and common knowledge?
