Murph,
I was trying to find a 3pt spreader that could spread a narrow (6'-10') path. Are you suggesting that if I use the Scotts powder fert in the herd that its easily enough controled that i could consistently work narrow areas?
Thanks,
Buzst

Buzst,

You can actually control any type of fertilizer in pretty much any of the PTO driven spreeders by lowering your 3 point and slowing down your PTO/RPM's. If you want to use the Scott's type brands for 6 to 8 feet I think it will work fine by doing both options above. I have used the Scott's brand stuff before and found it to already have a smaller pattern because of it's fine granuals and light weight. I used mine to spreed grass seed and I only got about a 10 foot pattern with it at normal RPM's. Also remember that with any spreeder like this you will tend to also blow more product to one side or the other depending on the rotation of the blade.

I did not get the 18" extension. I have two acres and I basically have to go back and refill once. If I had the extension I probably would still have to go back once to fill. If you have a larger area than maybe it would be worth it. I did not get the cover either.
