XR4155. I've got right at 40hrs on it. Today when letting the clutch out in reverse the PTO would engage for just a split second just enough to make the bush hog jump. Did it at least 3 separate times (loading and unloading the trailer). PTO knob was off was at about 1200 rpm. Auto PTO wasn't engaged. Anyone else have this happen?

Checked the plug and wires still doing it. Guess this thing is going back to the dealer. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

Funny, mine did the opposite. I wonder if your pto clutch solenoid is fried.

I have a Kubota L3901 with 80 hours on it. Same thing recently happened with mine. Cable just needed an adjustment. Could be the same with yours. Good luck.

It's an electronic PTO. Would having it in manual or auto mode affect it? I've got it in manual mode.

Auto mode. Returns same results

Tractor is fixed. Turns out it was the PTO wire that had rubbed against the clutch linkage and caused it to short. Dealer was able to fix and re route the wires. Also gave me a free 50hr service. Going to pick it up later in the week.

Good deal. Glad it worked out for you, and kudos to the dealer for kicking in the 50 hr. Nice touch.

Update.

Got it back from the dealer and same thing. Turns out they just fixed the first wire they saw and said "fixed". There was a whole mess of wires being rubbed under the dash. I fixed them myself today along with doing my 50hr service that the dealer said they would do but didn't. Anyhow tractor is back in business and put another 2 hrs on it today pushing trees and brush.

Each time a tractor is built I guess they don't run the wires the same way?? Do any of these companies ever plan ahead and say maybe running the wire in this location is not a good idea - ridiculous.
