I have a 21 horse vert belt driven mower. I want to hook it up to a pto driven generator as neccessary in the winter so my tractor is not tied up in a huge snow storm. I am trying to figure how to get the power from the mower to the pto shaft. about the only thing i could think of was using a right angle from a 40/75 hp phd that some one mentioned in another thred. it is made to have 1500 rpm on the lower shaft while the pto connection is at 500... 1:2.9 ratio or so. I woud build a stand for the generator that you would drive the mower up on pull the main belt and then hook a belt from the lower gear shaft to the mowers pully. mower runs at 2600 rpm ish at top speed.
does any one think that will likely cause an issue in the gear box since it usually has power coming from the pto side instead of the down shaft?
