- AGCO ST34A
I have a 2008 AGCO ST34A (same as Massey Ferguson 1533) shuttle shift tractor. Since I bought it used the PTO lever would vibrate out of engagement after a while of tilling or mowing. Seemed the detent or whatever holds it engaged was worn out. Too keep it engaged I used a piece of strapping to hold the lever and had no issues.
I was tilling yesterday and hit a rock. It snubbed the tractor out. PTO shaft does have a slip clutch but it must have been adjusted too tight. I restarted the tractor and engaged the pto. Pto spins and will turn tiller but a grinding/vibration will not keep the pto lever engaged. Even if I hold the lever with my hand it wants to push out of engagement. I removed the tiller and have the same grinding and pushing out of engagement with no attachment connected.
With tractor off and pto engaged I cannot turn pto shaft by hand. There doesn’t seem to be any play in and out or side to side with the pto shaft. If I disengage pto lever I can spin the pto shaft freely like normal.
Any ideas?
