lol no don't have any close neighbors. just blow them back into the woods!
this is a re-purposed industrial cooling tower blower that i bought on ebay. gave $300 for the new unused blower with 10 horse electric motor.
sold the motor to a local machine shop for a $100. this is a heavy beast. all 1/4" steel. stands about 4ft tall. rated for 3200 rpm. i had it geared to turn around
3000 rpm at 520 pto rpm but quickly discovered that at that speed it will remove sod as well as leaves so i geared down to around 2400 rpm at pto speed. but i still only run it at about
1800 rpm and at that speed it will still move softball size rocks with no problem. so leaves limbs or whatever it moves. i originally built this for a 39 hp tractor but traded for a larger much heavier tractor
this year. i was afraid my new tractor would be rough on the yard so i tried this on my kubota 2350 and to my surprise the little kubota pulled it fine. just had to add weight to the front so i could keep the
front down but its gentle on the yard.

How do you avoid inhaling neighborhood cats?

Plse post pictures of the impeller. I would like to see if it is forward curved, backward curved or straight bladed.

P.s. I should have looked at the first photos more closely.

intake a little to high for cats but you do have to be cautious if you walk behind it with a hat on if it is running:D
one of the first pics shows the wheel but i can get more if you like when i get home from work. the wheel is also 1/4"
steel plate.

When I looked at you second picture I saw the impeller detail I was looking for.

If you were trying to use your blower to suck up stuff, the impeller design would clog.

Impellers for large sawdust extractors and on tractor leave suckers use a straight blade design so material does not say on the blade.
Each design has its purpose but in your case you have so much more performance than you need, it really does not matter.

Nice job!
