Have new L3400 HST with QA and 5' shredder that make loud clicking when clutching to disengage pto. Is that normal?
Also when raising shredder it jumps rather than smooth lift I would expect

Why do you use the clutch to disengage the PTO? It's not needed. The PTO has it's own hydraulic clutch pack.

Go to your dealer and tell them that you want PSB-2005-052 done for the pto noise. It raises the fluid level and quiets the ratcheting action of the overrunning clutch. Also ask that they contact Kubota and install the updated lift valve for your three point. You will be amazed at the difference. This will take care of both of your problems and you then love your L3400 as I do. If you do some research on this site you will see that these topics have come up many times. Hopefully you have a helpfull dealer as I did. There are others that have really had to work to get these problems fixed but I think by now it should be pretty simple. Good luck and let us know how it goes. These are great tractors with a couple easily repaired problems. Brian

I have a L2800 and I definitely recommend the 3pt valve change but as far as the pto noise when you want to disengage the pto just flip the pto lever to the disengage position.
You can do the pto mod if you want to but all it does is dampen the ratcheting sound down, the down side to the mod is increase cost on fluid changes.
