If I cut brush primarilly.. I wouldn't keep my hog blades particularly 'sharp'

if i only cut lawn.. then that's different..

Thanks for the feedback.... I am cutting a lot of 1 to 2 inch small trees and downed limbs and seems to do fine between 2000 and 2500.

If it's working for you, then go ahead.

My earlier comment about overspeeding the bush-hog is the result of having done so with a little B7100 that had a 3 speed PTO gear. When I ran in 3rd, the hog did a really great job of cutting stuff, but the too high speed made the seals on the gearbox leak. No permanent damage was done, but I figure I could have hurt something if I had more tractor or done the overspeeding for a longer time.
