I have several attachments for PTO that are used from the ground (splitter, chipper & generator). I have just jammed a screwdriver over the seat switch button and moved right along. Ruined the seat switch. Had to buy a new one, ouch. Don't want to by pass switch because grandson loves to drive tractor around. Bucket of sand in nice but there must be a more elegant solution. Any suggestions?

Wire a toggle switch into the circuit so when you want to be off the seat it bypasses the seat and when you aren't using the pto flip the switch to run the tractor the way it's suppose to run.

On some you pull the seat switch button up to use the PTO.

Thanks. Have to hide it from grandkids but it is good suggestion. Thanks again

Told be the same thing @ JD. But he said it didn't work with all models (surely not mine) and there is an order of operation like brake 1st, etc. Tried various combos. None work for me. Anybody know the "trick".
Thanks for the tip

Outlined in the manual.

But I'd put a toggle switch on the seat.

If anything needs to be hidden from the grand children regards safety devices... then either they lean to obey what you tell them or they don't deserve to be on your tractor. 'nuff said.

All my 6 grand children listened to grandpa... 'cept one. She didn't get to drive the gator, the lawn tractors, or the 4300. She wasn't happy, but remained stubborn.

Thanks. You're correct. Also noticed "she". LOL, they can be pistols.

My first 4wd was a JD 4010. The 4110 apparently has a pull-up on the seat button that allows the rear PTO to work with the seat rotated forward. I was able to jumper wire mine to do this (the 4010 has the same pull-up buttom but not the external wiring to make the "up" part of the button work). You need a wiring diagram for the 4110 to do this. I used to have it and might be able to find it, but I don't recommend it because mine quit working after a bit. Guess one of the jumpers became ineffective.

All I did was use a tension strip (bunge cord) to tie the seat back to the ROPS. That's how I ran my chipper/shredder all the time after the jumper wires failed (fairly quickly).

If you think you're better at jumper wiring than I am, let me know. Maybe I can still find the jumper wire diagram that Kenny D sent me.

Thanks Ralph, from the JD guys the by passes are difficult at best and I don't need the aggravation when I'm 1/2way through a project. Your suggestion on the seat back, et al looks promising. I'll give it a try today. Thanks again, Bruky

Yes, like Ralph the 4010 was never setup to allow off-seat operation, unless you do some modifications. A hidden bypass switch wired in parallel is easy to install, and keeps the regular switch active for general use.
