I've been working on re-fencing my property with field fence and found that those big 330 ft rolls were just a tad large to manhandle.
My solution was to weld a 4ft length of 2" pipe to the center of the 2ft diameter disc cut from some scrap 3/8" diamond plate (tread side up), I then drilled a 5/16" hole across the diameter at the other end of the pipe. I then lay the fence roll on it's side and slip the pipe through the center then stand it up and slip the end over the shaft of my post hole digger gearbox. I fastened a stabilizer out of a length of 3x2 heavy walled tubing and placed a 3/4 in bolt through a hole in the end into a hole drilled in the center of the disc, the other end attaches to the drawbar hitch. I can then haul the fenceroll to the site, attach the free end to the first post and unroll it very slowly (PTO barely moving) while driving slowly along the fence line. It eliminates the fore-aft swinging, but still alows a little side to side, which I can live with. When I get a working camera I'll post some pics.
Anyone got any ideas on eliminating the side to side?
