To those of you who are more experienced with the newer safety features, on my 1528 when I engage the PTO with the trans range and gear in neutral and I want to get off to run a chipper the engine wants to quit. Is there a sequence that I must do to maintain the PTO running while I feed brush into the chipper as it does not magically jump off the pile and into the chipper by itself? Thanks in advance! Uhhh, I think you'll need to jumper your safety switch under the seat. One of those things where you don't really want to tell someone to overide a safety item yet in reality there are a few attachments that you need to run when you are off the seat...

firejake,
I installed a bypass switch. just a single throw toggle switch splice it into the 2 wires on the seat safety switch. I placed mine behind the seat and use it with my BH. My Bh has a PTO pump and the safety needs bypassed.

I don't know about the 1500s, but I had to put a push on and off switch under the edge of the seat. That way I can turn the safety feature back on when I am done driving a post.

I thought about this once before....what about just putting something in the seat to keep the switch closed? At least this would be a temporary solution until you were ready to take the time to do the electrical work.

Thanks Guys! I thought I may have to fiddle with the switch. A toggle switch sounds good as I can reactivate the safety feature while riding around. Should the switch be spliced to the switch side of the wires or seat side? (I figure the switch side.)

This is how I did mine. The plug in connectors that I used are compatible with the factory connectors. That way, if I ever want to remove the switch, It will not even look like anything else was ever there.

Hi Scott,
I didn't think that I had a picture of my switch, but I did. Here it is.
