Apologies if this has been discussed, searched but couldn't find it.

I bought a Worksaver model 500 Post Hole Digger at an auction. It came with a PTO shaft but the telescoping cover is broken and non functional. For the sake of being **** I'd like to replace the cover but can't find a suitable one. By the u-joint cross size it's a series 1 shaft (with the 3 lobed tubes). I've looked but can't find any markings indicating who manufactured it. Anyway, when I look at potential replacements the retainer ring bearing groove size is different than what I have.

I'll probably just run it with no guard but thought I'd see if anyone here has dealt with a similar problem just in case there's a simple solution.

Simple yes, cheap no. Just the plastic tubes run close to $200 with shipping.

You might give PaulB Parts a call on Monday and see if they can help.

See if there is a driveline shop nearby. They will probably be able to help, unless your shaft is areal oddball.

TSC has a few options, Agri Supply may have several more. (a 5-Star outfit, btw)

I just went through this and ended up putting a Bare Co pto shield on my Bush ATH720 finish mower. It

comes with numerous bearings to fit different sizes of pto shafts. Good product, I would purchase it again. Available on Amazon for a price cheaper than a entire new unit.

I buy a lot of stuff from them including all my mower blades. Last year I bought one of their rotary rakes and it's a gem. Even have an ag exemption on file with them. Nice people to deal with too. Very honest and straightforward.

One thing I like about them is, they ship promptly (sometimes the same day) and they provide tracking, even on truck shipments.

Bought my tedder there as well a few years ago and like the rotary rake, it's a gem but then I like Itallian built implements. Seems as though Itallian built implements are very well built.

My new Kubota round baler (Kneverland) is Itallian too.
