Mowing pto shaft quit turning

Brand new Kubota 8560m. 26 hrs. PTO clutch control switch is in the ON position and the PTO clutch indicator on the dash says the PTO is engaged and its giving you the RPM however the PTO shaft is not turning. It has been working fine and all of a sudden while mowing it just quit. Has anyone got any ideas what the problem is?

Call the dealer it's under warranty

has this been true from the start? my guess is that it's a switch/electrical related problem rather than mechanical problem within transmission. but really, it's your dealer's problem, my suggestion is to respectfully request what is already your due under warranty. if dealer refuses, call central k & document. kubota owes it to you. good luck!

Obvious question, is the PTO shaft hooked up? They do sometime come loose.

I talked to my dealer and he's trying to find a fix for the problem . He's about a hundred miles away and I'm trying to keep from having to drag it up there. I'm thinking it is probably an easy fix and that it is electrical or a switch that I could probably replace my self. I took the mower off so I could see the PTO shaft and it's definitely not turning.

Did you check seat switch? I believe it is a different switch than the regular seat switch since it has the added feature of allowing the PTO to run without operator if you flip the seat up quickly after standing up. My tractor will shut down the PTO if I move too far forward to look for obstructions while the tractor keeps propelling. In fact my PTO switch is getting more sensitive all the time and shuts me down way too easily. I'd look for a seat switch malfunction first.

F Y I there is a solenoid behind the right rear tire in front of the axle and it's behind two oil filters it has one wire going to it and if that wire comes undone or pulled loose as mine did the PTO will not work so if you have this problem you ought to look there. Thanks for all the replies
