I was brush hogging today and in the middle of it, I shut the PTO switch off. I then got off the tractor but left the tractor running. When I got back on, I turn the PTO switch back on but nothing happened....it would not turn on. I tried everything....I pushed the PTO on and off... put it on manual mode and turned the PTO on and off.....I also put it auto mode and turned the PTO switch on and off. I finally got frustrated shut the tractor off, went inside, and got something to eat. When I came out I turned the PTO back on and it was working fine.

This happened to me several times today. The tractor is only two weeks old.

Does anyone know what it is? Has anyone experienced the same problem?

Thanks,

Stevee

Haven't had that problem with my new 4035HST (thank goodness), but considering the way it's all wired it is most likely a relay issue. It could just be making poor contact in the socket or it could be a faulty relay getting hot and contrary. I'd use the manual to identify the PTO relays, unplug each one and plug it back in to reseat them and ensure they're making good contact. I'd imagine that's the issue being new and having been shipped, some things can rattle loose. If reseating the relays in their sockets doesn't fix the issue, I'd talk to the dealer and explain the issue. Since it is only happening when hot they may schedule a time to send a tech out at a time you can have it hot enough to be acting up for them to diagnose. If they'll not send a tech out, I think it would be worth taking a relay to the auto parts store for a duplicate to swap out and test also; they're not expensive.

Let us know what it turns out to be. Best of luck!

Try popping the PTO switch next to the shuttle and look at the wire behind it. My shuttle rubbed through the wire causing a short. I taped over it with electrical tape and angled it a bit out of the way and it worked great. I figured this out after the fourth fuse blew....

My 4110 also has this problem from time to time, if yours is like mine, right under your right foot below floor pan you will find a solenoid with a notched round cap, tap this with the switch "on".. Be careful and have parking brake engaged as it sometimes will engage while your not expecting it!! The dealer installed a new solenoid while it was under warranty and it's not a difficult fix, I've just not replaced mine yet because it'll go months before acting up.. Good luck
