PUBLIC SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT - HARBOR FREIGHT JACK STANDS RECALLED

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.
Harbor Freight Tools (滴FT? has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety may exist in certain Pittsburgh Automotive 3 Ton Heavy Duty Steel Jack Stands item number 56373. You may have purchased at least one of these pairs of Jack Stands.
What is the Condition?
For certain units of the Pittsburgh Automotive 3 Ton Heavy Duty Steel Jack Stands (Item 56373) there may be an inadequate weld on the inside of the red base of the jack stand, allowing the stand to drop suddenly. This condition could cause serious injury for people near or under a lifted vehicle, and/or damage to property. As a precautionary measure, we request that you discontinue use of the jack stand(s) identified below immediately.

Also, please note that we have previously announced recalls for 3 Ton Jack Stands item number 61196 and 6 Ton Jack Stands item number 61197. Both are painted grey, and can be identified by checking the item number found on the yellow part of the label on the base of each jack stand.

Item number 56373 is painted red and indicated below. We previously also announced a recall for 3 Ton Jack Stands item number 56371 which is also painted red. The item number for 56371 and 56373 can be identified by checking the item number on the label on the top of each jack stand.

What will Harbor Freight Tools do?
To all customers who participate in the Recall by returning their pairs of 3 Ton or 6 Ton Jack Stands item numbers 56371, 56373, 61196, and/or 61197, Harbor Freight Tools is providing a full refund, with your choice of cash or store credit (gift card) in the amounts shown below. Customers choosing cash will receive a refund for the retail selling price. Customers choosing the store credit (gift card) remedy will receive a gift card equal to the retail selling price plus 20% as shown below.

If you owned the jack stands, experienced the described failure in your unit and previously discarded the unit without returning it, please email Recalls@HarborFreight.com for a remedy.
What should you do?
Please bring your 3 Ton and/or 6 Ton Heavy Duty Steel Jack Stands, item numbers 56371, 56373, 61196, or 61197, to your local Harbor Freight Tools store to receive a full cash refund, or gift card equal to the retail selling price of these jack stands plus 20%. You do NOT need to provide a receipt; you only need to return your pair of Jack Stands. Directions to your nearest Harbor Freight Tools store can be found on our website at www.harborfreight.com.
