2013 5083E, JD 4210 Compact
Well, after much deliberation, they finally delivered the 5083E to the house and I said farewell to the 3520.

Got the Michelin Radials and the Alpine stereo put in on Saturday, so I am ready to mow some CRP. The tires are far and away better than the bare bones FS that they put on these. Makes the tractor ride and drive so much better.

First observations are that it is way front heavy with an 85 inch bucket and a 553 loader. Needs some rear weight for sure. Transmission seems good. A/C works really nice. haven't had a chance to work it yet, but that should change tomorrow. Taking it to the farm to break it in. Going to mow with a JD HX15 cutter. Dealer said it should swing it, so we will see.

Coming from a compact tractor, this tractor seems huge and very hard to see the bucket. There is going to be a learning curve on this for sure.
Will send some pics when I get them.

That's a nice big tractor. I think you will some how get use to it and like it and, I don't think it will ever be hard on the eyes....one heck of a rig.

You can mow with the 15' but I'd spec a 10' for a better fit. Depending on grass thickness, you'll just have to slow down and remember your mowing 15' at a time, so at 1/3 speed your still doing more work than 3-4 overlapping passes with a 5 or 6 footer.

enjoy your new tractor.

I am also considering either the 5083e or the 5093e for a 15' batwing so let me know how yours handles the mower.

Well, I just got home from two days of mowing with the HX-15 cutter. It did fantastic. Had no issues really at all. Yesterday was the hottest day of the year and I ran it for 12 hours and 8 today. It never missed a beat. Used over 30 gallons of fuel. I didn't shut it off at all yesterday. I roaded it about 20 miles pulling the cutter. I only had to downshift on two hills. My neck is sore from looking behind me. Mowed about 55 to 60 acres.

The Michelins performed great on the road and in the field.
I ran that cutter on Epto and normal pto. It worked good either way. I had some areas that were tougher than others. I was impressed with the way it handled that batwing. It is very heavy.
The only issue was that the a/c got warmer when I reved the engine up. When I idled it down to 1200 rpm it would freeze you. But when I ran it at 2500 rpm it would get warmer. So I called the dealer and they said that there was a bulletin about the heater hoses being crossed and the flow control valve only working one direction and that hot coolant could be getting into the heater core and offsetting the a/c. So they are going to check it out for me.
I know this is not their premium model by any means, but I was very impressed with how well it performed. I like the feel of it and the way it drives.
The dealer said it would handle a 15footer, and I after 20 hours, I would agree, it can handle it. I was mowing weeds 14feet tall, and it went right through it.
If i were going to buy a cutter, I wouldn't hesitate to get a 15.
Sorry I am rambling, I am super tired. Pictures soon, I promise.

Sounds like you have a good setup, way faster than using the 3720:)

Here are some pics. The michelins are much wider on the tread area compared to the stock tires. they are actually a true 16.9 inches wide unlike the others.
The one picture is of my son in the bucket to show how huge it is. Coming from a 3520, this is a huge jump.

Great lookin' package you put together! Thanks for the pics!

I really went back and forth between the E and the M... Wanted that bigger engine and Hp! Finally went for the hydraulics and extra tranny gears!

Tires are mighty fine lookin' too! Went down that "track" too - but the extra $1,600 backed me up. Like the swept back angle of the bars - probably less road noise and smoother riding - I'd bet.
