So, as some of you may remember, I have had to pull a number of rotted hoses out of my PT. When I changed out my high pressure filter it had large (1/4") rubber chunks in it. I wondered where this could have come from. I was talking with a teamster (a movie truck driver) the other day about the tractor and he said it was probably from pulling the new hoses. Per the ideas given here, I connected the new hose to the old hose to pull it through the tunnel. He felt what happened was that the old hose had oil in it, cracked up internally and deposited it into the new hose.
This make sense? Seemed to to me... So, I have 2 large tunnel hoses left to replace and am wondering what I should do so that this does not happen.. I guess drain the hose first....
