Tractor
John Deere 4110, John Deere 332,
How big of a log would be safe to pull with my 4110? I've cut some Red Oaks and would like to have them sawed into lumber. I don't want to stress my Tractor, I rather make them into firewood first!

I'd sugest that if you hook up and can't move them then they are too big for your tractor! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree with Egon. If it's too big for your tractor, you won't be able to move it. If it moves it, it's okay.

Simply pulling on something that is too heavy to move is not likely to damage the tractor, assuming the pulling is done in a way that the tractor doesn't do a back-flip, tip to the side, or otherwise loose the tug of war in a way that it lands wheels-up.

So, I wouldn't necessarily agree that its "safe" to move anything your tractor can pull.

Imagine a log skidding along just fine, but then it decides to roll sideways into a ditch dragging the tractor sideways with it.
