I have been going round and round for the past two weeks trying to get a deal going. I thought I wanted a XU5065CPS because of the hydro power shuttle. Instead the P7010C won out. I have listed some comparisons between the two that I observed. Your mileage may vary...

I test drove a XU5065CPS and here was my observations.
1. Power shuttle was nice!
2. Cab was small. Controls were cramped.
3. Hydraulic slave cylinder clutch was jumpy.
4. Louder than the P7010C.
5. Did not like manual 4wd and difflock.
6. No EPTO.

Then I test drove the P7010C.
1. Roomy cab, will get the buddy seat as well.
2. Syncro shuttle is smooth, just a little further away from seat than I like (I'm short).
3. Much quieter than XU5065CPS.
4. Air Conditioner seemed stronger.
5. Controls are arranged in a VERY functional way.
6. Its freaking huge! Should have no problems utilizing its 3500 lb loader.
7. Has 3 speed PTO (750 for 540 EPTO).

After a sweet deal did not materialize, and one local dealer would not flex at all... I found another local dealer that was extremely understanding and we made a deal. We are getting paperwork finalized and awaiting delivery. Yay!

I will update this thread with pictures upon delivery.

I think they are the best bang for the buck out there. My main issue is dealer support down the road. I just don't have a dealer close that I have any confidence in 5-10 years down the road.

I am blessed with two dealers. One 4 miles away and one about 25 miles away. I chose the one 25 miles away. I feel they are a better fit if I need service support. With LS having a 5 yr warranty, a supportave dealer is important! I can get parts at either.

Congrats, CT -- glad you're getting the tractor, dealer, and numbers that work for you. Appreciate the great rundown on some of the key differences between models... wish the P-series would have worked for me too, as it definitely is a lot more tractor for the $$ (and who wouldn't like the buddy seat and other amenities?). Look forward to pics and your report after you've got some hours and mud on her!

Blessed. I went back and forth between the XU and P series. The XU would have been sufficient for my needs. But for the small difference in price and the persuasion of some key people (wife, father in law, father) we felt the P was a better fit. Can you buy a tractor too large?

By getting the P, I can help my father with hay when he gets behind. It will run a 8' or 9' cutter (he has both) and will run the Vermeer 504H baler (hydraulic compression takes HP). It will also not have any problems pulling the 4 yard Reynolds scraper. And do I have some jobs for it before it gets too wet! The extra 3000 lbs and larger tires should pull it nicely.

I will continue to follow up with this thread. I will have pictures of it doing various tasks. Be forewarned, I like pictures!

Only for the trailer and truck that have to haul them! The XU was a tight squeeze (see pic) and a handful for the delivery driver on long/steep grade. Dealer had a P7040 and P7010 on the lot, and there was certainly "more to love." Congrats again... bring on the pics!

Well, I have gotten insurance; 23.50/mo or 282 anual. Its the same. Farm Beauru. They only charge extra for quartly... Figure that out!

Bank should close tomorrow. 5.5% did not b!tch, fair rate. Tractor should arrive Monday. P7010C. Even though dealer mistakenly sent insurance guy buyers order with P7040CPS! Dang, I would accept for P7010C price!!

Pics WILL FOLLOW! Working pics as well! Food l

The time has came. Trigger was pulled and the shot hit the bullseye. As always, must provide pictures or it did not happen. Here is your first and not hardly your last viewing pleasure of just released tractor ****!

Loaded up.

Made it Home.

This Morning... Shame I have to go to work. http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.png

More will follow for sure! Probably will start a new thread to follow the P7010C's adventures doing what it does best. WORK!

Forgot some details...

The trailer is a 12000 lb trailer. It is 20' long. It is 6'11" inside the rails. Weighs around 3300 lbs.

The tractor with its wheels tucked in is 6'7". It weighs about 9500 lbs total with tractor, loader, bucket, unloaded tires.

The P7010C FILLED THE TRAILER UP! I almost was wishing I had brought my flat deck, but it fit nicely on my buddies low-boy.
