Puma 72\" snowblower on a Kubota L4330

Hello all,

I am looking to buy a three point hitch snow blower for my 4330 and have read good things here about the Puma. What I'm wondering is will the Puma 72" handle the 43 horsepower of the 4330? Their site says 18-25 horsepower recommended. It's over a $600 price jump to go up to the Puma 74" which says it's rated 25-40 hp, so if the 72" is strong enough I would like to save some money. Anybody with any experience out there please give me some help.

I have a 3830 and opted for the 74".

The 74" is a much larger (height & depth) and heavier unit than the 72". I also added the hydraulic chute defection and rotation. I wasn't sure about the hydraulics but it was a great addition. Nothing like being able to adjust the chute quickly when you are getting a face full of snow!

You should have no problem. The Puma's are built heavy and solid. I am running a 64" on a B2710 so your L4330 should handle it no problem. As long as it more than covers your tracks then go for it. The 74" is much better than the 72" especially for your tractor.

How much snow do you get and what transmission do you have? I had a 54 eng. Hp Kubota gear drive which backed up way to fast to handle the snow we get here in Maine with a 7 ft. blower.If you have the HST that won't be a problem for you.As for the gear box I like to have it rated higher than my pto hp but that is just my opinion.If you live in an area where you don't get lots of snow you may get along with the cheaper model, especialy if you have hst and can take it easy.
