I am considering Montana, among other tractors, for purchase. With the upcoming change in suppliers, I am concerned that I will have an orphan machine with difficulty getting parts. I assume there will be more dealers with the change but parts is a worry. What are other's opinions on this issue?

Thanks,
Phil

Tractors are typically a long term purchase and it is wise to consider parts and service down the road. It definitely influenced my tractor purchase.

I highly doubt there will be difficulty getting parts for any montana tractors. The main reason is the companies that make the montana tractors also make tractors for many other tractor brands. For instance I can go get parts for my tractor at any montana, mccormick, LS, TYM, mahindra, branson, and some other brand dealers that I might be forgetting. Also the engine in my tractor is a Mitsubishi and the engine widely used in other machines.

So I would not be affraid to purchase another Montana. Of course if money was no issue I would probably go with a name brand such as JD, Kubota, or New Holland, but you pay for all the little extras like extra hydraulics, cabs, heat, A/C, lights, and stuff which comes standard on most Montana tractors.

What Model and size tractor are you looking at???

I have looked at the 2840 which suits me as to size and price. Can I count on LS dealers selling other brands providing parts?

ask you're dealer about this. my dealer is going to sell ls also on his lot so i am not concerned about my 2840 by the way it's a great powerful machine. ls is the company that makes the 2840 for montana and if you search the ls site it is still gonna be in their line up. where are you located?

The dealer has a McCormick CT28 which appear to be the same tractor under the skin although I am not knowledgeable enough to be sure. The engine is the same Mitsubishi. The McCormick is $2000 more. The dealer says when he gets new Montanas in they will be $1000 more than the $12900 he is quoting for the 2840 with loader.

i believe the mccormicks are ls built also that is a good price on the 2840. when the new ones come in they wont be the same they will be kukje built and red for a while until all the red sheet metal parts are gone.

Kukje will continue to build and sell Branson, as well as selling tractors to Montana. So I don't think it is a matter of waiting "until all the red sheet metal is gone"...but maybe a matter of getting some tractors that are already built and in the USA (or in the pipeline) to Montana quickly.

From what I understand, Kukje will continue building Branson tractors, but I'm all ears if someone has solid info to the contrary.
