After being originally set on a Kubota 2650 Im glad I did some shopping around. First let me say that all kubota dealers I visited in the area (there are 3) were great as opposed to the NH and LS dealers that never bothered to return my phone calls or messages when I called and let them know what I was looking for multiple times. The Kioti dealers I talked to (2 in New Hampshire and 1 in MA) were all great and responsive. The dealer I purchased from sells both Mahindra and Kioti the sales guy I got was the ownerç—´ son who was younger (still in college) which was great because he would return emails and text any time of the day or night and knew his stuff. I was encourage to play with any of the tractors on the lot in a small field next to their lot and use the loaders on piles of gravel, drive in the mud etc.
Im a first time buyer with about 6 acres of lawn to be mowed around the house, a 600 foot x 15 foot drive way I plan to use a snowblower on, and about 10 acres of farmed land with a little bit of wooded area and firewood work. I spent months lurking in forums, and watching hundreds of YouTube videos before making the decision to start the process.
My final choices came down to the Mahindra 1533, CK 2610, and the CK3510 SE. Mahindra was eliminated because of three reasons I HATE the idea of the fuel filler being in the middle of the hood where spilled diesel will be peeling paint in no time, and then after I drove it it felt to be not as smooth (idle and at power) with more vibration than the Kiotis and the panel and the controls also felt to be made of cheaper plastic or at least looked that way. Im sure it would have done the job but for basically the same money as the CK2610 I felt like it was less tractor.
There are a couple pics below of the 2610 and the 3510 parked next to each other at the dealers after I got done playing around with them. In the end I was leaning toward the open station model due to the price despite not having some of the nicer options like the linked pedals but my wife was the deciding factor and wanted the AC and HEAT - who am I to argue with her when she tells me to spend more money on a tractor she will use maybe 5% of the time?! Lol
Also purchased a 72 inch sitrex finish mower with anti-scalping wheel. And will add the front snowblower next year sometime and just stick with my truck and plow for this winter. Excited about the new tractor which I will be picking up next week sometime and driving back home the 6 Miles to the house (all back roads and this area in western MA is used to farmers and tractors on the road).
$28k for the tractor
$2500 for the 72 inch sitrex finish mower
$80 for antiscalping wheel
Will post some more pics when I pick it up next week.
Thanks
David
