After much research I made a decision and purchased a 3010GST. The tractor will easily perform what I need it to and also the price was very good - at least from a Californians perspective. To give everyone an idea of costs out here in the Golden State:

2002 3010GST w/LA482 R1's $15,600 taxes/delivered. Tractor was used 24 hr's! It also has R1's which is my preferance due to the steep terrain. The loader will be installed next week which means a 1 yr loader warranty. I also have a 2 yr tractor warranty since it was originally sold in July 2002.

2003 3130HST FEL R4's $19,840 taxes/delivered
I cant remember which FEL this includes - 513 or 723. Typically dealers quote the lowest cost equipment

2003 7800HST FEL R4's $16,940 taxes/delivered

I realize Im comparing different fruit here but these are basically the other choices for compact size tractors in this area. To my surprise Deere and NH are $1000's more. Also, they do not match Kubota in terms of presence in this area. Presence meaning dealerships, tractor choices, parts, support...

Do we call you Norcal or 6 beautiful acres? I agree with what Pete said, that is a fine setup. My dealer quoted me a price on my L3830 with all the things they find folks tend to want, in other words, work the price from a higher end and drop it. For example, HST, foldable ROPS, spark arrester in addition to the factory supplied muffler, larger loader, and some other minor points. No surprises other then adding TnT, but I was well aware of what that cost. Have fun up here in Northern California.... Rat

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah - I know which dealer your referancing. Please dont misinterupt what Im about to say, Im not trying to bash here - some of the details regarding options got a little lost at that dealership. I visited them three times and all three times a mechanic, three different mechanics, came to assist me. The mechanics were all very nice - I liked everyone one of them. After the third visit, I know - Im pretty sharp that way - I realized that the mechanics were unable to cross the line in terms of discussing pricing and options included. When it came to pricing they would go inside and ask an owner/salesperson to provide a quote. I guess what Im saying is that some of the options and details got lost due to the procees. I will also take some responsibility as I am new to the tractor jargon.

On another note, another dealership salesperson spent over 2 hours with me (I couldnt believe how time flies when your talkin tractors), made sure I was loaded up with brochures and gave me a business card.

I understand completely. It's a developed reationship there. I'm friends with 3 of te Kubota dealerships, 2 completely not having to directly with tractors. The fellow at Sacramento For tractors is in my wifes running club.
