Because I found it so helpful to me when another poster on this board listed the price of his recent purchase on this board I am going to do the same.

The tractor is a m5040 4WD with syncro shuttle shift, la1153 loader, grill guard, canopy, rear work light

my out the door price was $26320

I chose to go with the 0% instead of the $600 cash discount

I expect to take delivery thursday or friday. I will post Pics

you made the right choice. I am continually amazed at how many people get sucked into the high priced/undersized grand L series when they get much more guts/size/and HP for their money in the M series. just ask any M series owner. enjoy! bb

looked seriously at the L5740, would love to have that cab, but the 5040 seemed a better choice for the property. bigger axles, larger bucket, much higher lifting capicity

Zebrex:

I appreciate you sharing your buying experience and pricing. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the same tractor.

Yes and I might add that the M is 165 lbs heavyer that the L, rear tires are the same width. The M's are of a larger dia. 52 HP is 52 HP. For logging and a woods tractor the L is perfect for me. Small enough for the woods a big enough for the field. I will be trading up soon to and L5040 shuttle shift but I can not get a Kubota cab, so I will have to go with a Laurin.

If I was buying today, it would be an M5040. Having said that, my little L4400 is a master on woods roads, small food plots and in the woods.

I would hardly call my grand L 3540 HSDC an undersized machine. Too bad you don't have the class to just congratulate zebrex on his purchase without offending the many grand L owners here at TBN!

I got an M6040 4WD with FEL a couple of weeks ago for 27,000.00 and it was a hydraulic shuttle. I didn't get a top but it has the Industrial tires on it. I bought from a Northeast Georgia dealer. That might be to far.
