After looking for a used BH75A backhoe for about a month, I found one that was close in Dunn, NC (you've seen the adds). Anyway, they wanted $5500.00 and I would pick it up to haul back some 250 miles to Lexington, VA, then purchase the subframe kit for my L3400 and have it installed. After talking with another Kubota owner that live near my property, he convinced me it was wiser to buy new so I know what i'm getting for my money. I ordered the BH75A and got a call back from the dealership saying they are not making the 75 anymore, but were replacing it with the BH76A and he gave it to me for the same price of $7600.00 out the door. As soon as I got home I Googled the BH76A and only got one hit with only the price. Has anyone seen the BH76A as yet?

The BH76A is what is shipping with the new B3200's so there are picutures on here with that backhoe installed. It is very much like the BH75, but does have the mount for a mechanical thumb already attached. I think you will be happy with the upgrade!

I made it to page 42 in the photo section looking for the 3200 with the picture(s) you spoke of and nodded off around 11:30. Is there a search function in the photo section that a newby like myself needs to know about? Thanks

Let's see what I have stashed away:

These are photos from both Kubota, and other members, and I only use them to answer your questions........ The credit for them goes to others.

I just saw the BH76 on Kubota's website yesterday. Look here in the B3030 implements section (it's not up yet in the L3400 section): http://www.kubota.com/f/products/B30/pdf/b30_series_backhoe.pdf

It is basically the BH75 with a thumb bracket welded to the dipper stick. The only difference between it and the BH76 for the B3200 is the mounting brackets on the backhoe frame, as the B3200 has a slightly different mounting setup than the B3030 subframe. I assume the subframe for the L3400 has the same mounting brackets as the B3030.

Anyway, you should be happy with the BH76, as it's a powerful little backhoe. I only wish the thumb option was available this time last year when I bought my BH75. I prefer those types of thumbs to some of the bolt-on versions, and I bet it wouldn't be too difficult to add a hydraulic cylinder to the new factory thumb.

Thanks for the reply and the pictures. As I write this, my tractor is headed down the mountain to the local dealership to get the BH76 installed:), I ordered the BH1976 six position thumb to help rid myself of numerous tree trunks and even more rocks I will encounter once I start to clear my drain field. Rockbridge County surely lives up to its name. For every bushel load of earth there is always around 1/4 of that or more in rocks. I have one rock that will require removal that is about the same size as my L3400 so I plan on drilling it and splitting it with Dexpan once it gets warmer. Hey, did I say yet, I love this forum, TBN is always a great, informative read.

Hi. I'm looking at an L3400 too and am seriously considering adding a backhoe (my local dealer said on Saturday that the one that goes on the L3400 would be a bh75a but he admitted he hadn't sold one this year yet so he's going to check with Kubota tomorrow to find out what's been upgraded). I was looking at the B3200 (which appears to use a bh76 too) and the brochure is all hot on the fact that the BH has a reversible seat (apparently for more room for the operator and a shorter tractor overall for stability, if you believe the brochure anyway). When they attach the BH to the 3400 does it have the same feature or is it the "older" style with an additional seat? And if you don't mind my asking, how much is the BH going to run you (I got a price of $7500 for the bh for the l3400 and one for $6800 for the bh on the b3200 which is strange if they are exactly the same.

Thanks.

As far as the price difference, I would suspect that there is a difference in the sub frame, hydraulic work, or both.

It looks like the replacement for the BH75 is the BH76, which will be available for the B3200, B2630, B3030, L2800 & L3400. Difference is the mounts welded to the backhoe frame and of course, the subframe mounts.

The only version with the single swivel seat option is the B3200, as it includes a rear fender delete, toolbox relocation bracket, etc. that was designed into the new machine.

The other machines all stick with the 2nd seat on the backhoe itself. Basically, the BH76 is the updated BH75 with a thumb bracket welded onto the dipper stick. Just as the old BH75 fit the B7800, the new BH76 fits the new B3200, but they've designed in the single swivel seat to the new B3200, so the seat post that the other machines utilize is not bolted onto the version for the B3200 - instead, a cover plate is bolted over the seat post mounting location.
