- Kubota B7800 with loaded R-4s
I meant to take pictures but forgot once we got started. It started by hooking up the tiller and removing all the sod. Then on the one side I had to cut down the dirt and bring it to the other side to build it up. As I was tilling with the B7800 the old man had his MF135 with my boxblade on it pulling the dirt over to the other side. Once we got it leveled up we went around and around packing it down. After a couple of rains, I used the roller and tractor to pack it down.
I should have set the post blocks first because that ground was like steel trying to get those blocks set. Used the Kubota to put sand in the middle of pool. Had to add some more sand after the sides was up. I got a good scare when I loaded the bucket up full and started down a slight bank to dump the sand. With the sides 52" high, I had to get the bucket high which made the tractor very tipsy since I didn't put the boxblade on. If the tractor would have tipped forward it would have crushed the pool side like a tin can. Put the liner in and organized everything putting the side rail and top rail pieces on.
Called for the water truck (I didn't figure the well would pump 16,700 gallons of water). The guy shows up with a little 2,500 gallon truck and then a 1,000 gallon truck. After the 2nd load (pool less than half full) a nasty thunderstorm kicks up. Luckily we had all ready put the top rails on or that pool would have been a goner. Everything worked like a charm and so far no leaks around the skimmer, pump and filter.
Now I just have to put a deck up (get to use the post hole digger for that). Although my brother had fun being lifted in and out of the pool with the tractor FEL. That was my fun for Saturday!!!
