While at my Kubota dealer today I noticed the fuel filter on the B series and am thinking why not just install that on my BX and get rid of the two original dinky filters. I like the small size and the ease of checking/replacing. I know others have suggested the Racor filter. What do you all think?

Maybe ask the dealer? Might be a reason they are different.

The BXs only has inline fuel filters, one before the electric lift pump and one mounted on engine before the injection pump.

I mounted and hooked up the newer B series fuel filter water separator on both my G2160 and BX2230 using some angle brackets and flat steel with all mounted under the hood of both tractors. No longer have the problem with water getting forced through the inline filter

Will see if I can get pictures, I am sure there are people out here that could have a professional type bracket custom cut and welded or bent to do the job.

I don't see why it wouldn't work, the B series engines are the same or slightly larger as far as fuel flow requirements. But, you should make sure to place the filter before the electric lift pump in order to protect it from clogging with debris, etc. Also, I would leave the 2nd in-line filter before the injectors as added protection. That one's easy to change when you need to, which may be about never once you put a real fuel filter on your BX.

Not to be a wet blanket because it is a fine idea but the micron rating on the B filter and the inlines are the same so you won't be gaining a better filter. A bit more convenient to change plus you can see the condition of the filter.

As David_Kb7uns indicated above...the B type also act as a water separator. The water collects at the bottom(fuel being lighter) of the filter. One year I didn't empty the bowl in the autumn and had my filter freeze up with ice and the tractor would only idle but engine would be starved for fuel at working rpm. I removed the bowl (which fortunately did not crack from thr expanding ice) and brought inside to thaw out and allowed the element to dry ( didn't have a replacement). Re-installed and all worked well. I now remove the bowl twice a year and empty any water accumulation due to condensation regardless of the state of the filter element.......just my 2 cents worth.

This is precisely why I want to 'upgrade'. Seeing the filter and ease of change. Having a little catch reservoir seems like a no brainer too.
