Putting things into perspective?

During my search for a new power washer I was given much good advice. Most advice was to not buy a washer unless it had a certain feature. Said features always added to the price. Was explaining to my wife that I needed at least 4000 psi with a commercial type engine and a CAT pump and if I got all that these things the machine would probable last me twenty years. "You are sixty-one years old. You will probably be dead in twenty years!"...................................

That added a new perspective to my search.

So I bought the one I had my eye on originally,....before getting all the advice.

May play out in a couple years,....... if it does and I'm still alive,.... I'll just buy another.

Good observation. Maybe 10 years from now you won't even care to use a power washer.

Oh I know that feeling I've been weighing heavily on a new round of equipment that should take things out to the point where I'll be more of a spectator

oops...consultant stage I mean :confused3:

Gosh I remember my ex fil's father...He was about two decades past this point the winter we logged off my land with his Cat skidder. He just couldn't let it sit dirty so he dragged the power washer out one February day washed off the machine but things had iced up quick in these New England winters slipped fell and broke his hip. I felt so bad about that!

There are projects I tackled eight-ten years ago I wouldn't take on today. I just turned 66. Definitely moving toward "spectator." :laughing: Good description.

Be positive. I am 80 and just bought a $1,000 chainsaw to fill out my stable of saws, all Stihls 192T,310, 361, 441. Three years ago I took on a project to clear cut a 1/2 mile long row of willow along a stream (more of a trickle). I don't figure I will be able to horse that big saw around for many more years but while I still can I'm having fun.

I asked my self "is 4" more bar length worth $1,000?" Answer: "H E double toothpicks yes it is. It is a NEW TOY!"
