Hello All,

Here is my first attempt at making some home made

Yes it does, it looks a bit jumbled in the pics. I used receiver tubes
and welded them to the qa plate. Each attachment can be used seperatly.
Boom, forks, 2"& 2 5/16" ball and soil knife. Now I'm working on flight.

can you post a slightly larger picture?

Receiver on the quick attach seems like a good idea.

Every time I pick up something on the forks that is close to the capacity of the machine I get nervous... nothing to keep the machinery from tipping backwards or falling off if I do the PT-newbie trick and don't ease the forks up and down. Back support to teh forks or something to lash the load on would be nice.

Last machine I bought/moved was a 700-800# Clausing 8520 baby bridgeport... every time I articulated more then a bit I would lift my rear wheels.... moved that baby around with the forks 1" of the ground the whole way... except for the careful easing up to plant it on my landscape trailer.

Maybe I should mod my fork attachment with training wheels?

I'll see if I can get bigger pics. I had to have my son help
me load the first pics. I do have a back stop for this setup.
It is made of lighter weight square tubing that also will hold a
small roll of wire. You might try to add weightto the back of
your PT. Terry at PT told me that you could add up to 500#
I don't think I would add that much but that is what he told
me. I love this machine. I haven't any major problems so far.
I have about 170 hrs. on my PT.

Definately add weight to the rear. I added 120 pound on my 422 and it's like a different machine. I took them off for one day and I hated it. Filled rear tires is another option.

It's not just keeping the tires on the ground, but having enough weight on them to allow full use of the available torque from the wheel motors.

Well, they dropped the charges and finally let me out of the state hospital. Now If i can get the meds right I'll be OK. I did get a letter that says I'm Normal?

Some of the power Trac tools have bolt on QA plates. Spare Factory plates are expensive and home made ones involve a good deal of fabrication. (thats 1/2" steel) For my uses so far, I've been able to make a tool, drill out 4 holes on a mounting plate and bolt on a QA plate from another tool.

I took the plate off a tool I don't use very much so there is not a lot of swapping. I believe this idea has been mentioned before, I'm not smart enough to come up with it by myself.

The remark to add weight is sound. You will add a lot of range with good weight distribution. I added the backhoe to a PT2445 and it was just right.
If you don't need a Backhoe, the mounting brackets on the back of the tractor could be used to hold a weight rack.(and toolbox?)

tim

I made some light duty quick attach plates. I brazed these since at the time I was not allowed to use an arc welder. More pictures are available if you are interested. I posted them somewhere up here.

How are they holding up in service so far? I had thought of doing something with 1/2" flat bar stock. Guess you planted a seed with your design.
I've got a PT 2445 and I'm not gentle with my use. It might be embarassing to drop an attachment from a cracked weld.
