Last year I bought a Rhino TR120 shredder. Its a 10ft. drag type. It came with 2 rear tires, although there was a place for 2 more (to make it duel). I decided to get 2 more tires so that there would not be any torque on the rear suspension arms. I ordered the tires (spindle, tire and wheel) through my local dealer and they arrived today. I put them on. The new tires are exactly the same brand and size (all numbers match) however they are a taller and a bit narrower. they are Goodyear 24 x 7.5 I assumed possibly the origional tires had "flattened" out a bit. I called my dealer and was told there was no air in these tires. There are, however, air valves in these tires. I tried to air up the old tires but no air would go in.

1) Do these tires take air?
2) Will they flatten out with time?

thanks

My guess is that they are foam filled, and that they will likely not flatten out. How much different are they? Maybe they can be shaved to the same dimeter.

If it is a foam filled tire & they were filled correctly, they will never flatten out. Is their an issue with weight of the implement? Duals are installed to displace weight and to lessen compaction. If used on had surfaces, the rubber of the tires will wear down, if they are carrying all the weight. That is the problem with foam filled tires.

Yeah, but aircraft tires (especially off something like an F-4 Phantom II) have many more plies then a car/truck tire.
The F-4 tires were 26 plies...take a long time to wear them out (as long as you're not landing the shredder on a flight deck at 150 knots).

Would these tires have air stems if there were no air in them? The 2 new ones have some sort of round metal piece approx. the size of a pencil eraser in the middle of the center tread.
