hey guys, i am new here but have been reading for awhile and i would like to say thanks to all yall for the great info.

i am looking at a used mulcher for sale, but seems to have asv type hydraulic hookups, meaning that it has 4 or 5 hoses instead of bobcat 3.

is there a way to change the hydraulic hookups or should i just pass on this mulcher and look for another? i think the brand was magnum. thanks jeff.

The 5 fittings you see are really for the low flow(2), high flow(2), and case drain(1). Your mulcher will only use the two big ones (high flow) and the small one (case drain) on the ASV. Bobcat runs their high and low flow through the same couplers (I think it causes extra heat). The attachment should run on either machine as long as the couplers are the same. They should be.

One step further. The head,,,2 hoses high flow, supply and return,,,1 case drain,,,,2 low flow, used to open and close the door. Unless you either remove the door (crappy cut) or have to go with another tractor, you can not use that head. A high flow skid should have 5 connectors. I think you have low flow skid. I could be wrong but double check. A Bobcat will say high flow on the side under it's size number S250 for example.

thanks guys for the reply, i do have a high flow machine bobcat t300, it has a supply and return and a case drain.

If the other two hoses on the attachment is for the door, can i run the door in a fixed position and not use these two lines?

thanks for all the great info as i would be lost without you guys. i am not set on this head, but wondering for future if i dont purchase this one.

thanks jeff

Jeff,
You can have a dealer install rear auxillaries and secondary fronts (from the rears valve is how they do it). Not Cheap but will put the door control in the left thumb paddle switch.

To find a head that will work with your tractor as it sits you will have to go to a Loftness carbide cutter. They do not use a door. You could take the door off a Magnum but they are designed to use the door and the finished product would suffer. Wish we could help :(

I had the secondary hydraulics installed on my s330 and my s300 so I could operate the trap door. You can always connect the lines together for the door and then tie the door open or shut it temporarily. The secondary front hydraulics work great and work off left joystick's buttons.

Or you could install a electric over hydraulic valve on the attachment like the stump grinders or snow blowers use and momentary rob a portion ofthe flow and divert it to the door cylinders.

I know this is an older thread but I'm hoping to get some replies. I have a similiar situation but different.
I have an ASV RC 100 with the five hose setup. There are a couple of Bradco mulchers I've been considering and they both have the 3 hose setup. One has Aux. oil cooler and one doesn't and both have hyd. door.
If one is supply, one is return, and one is drain then what operates hyd. door on the mulcher?

Is this what I need with my ASV?
