question about auto dump bed on 6x4 diesel gator

I was attempting to dump some rocks the other evening and the bed didn't move - lift motor just rattled. Since it was pretty dark, I couldn't really see anything but could feel that the motor actually separated. I managed to get both ends disconnected from the gator, unplug the electrical connection, scoop up the gears and get back to the shop. I have it back together with new gaskets but don't know which way it goes back into the gator. I know the long actuator gets connected to the dump bed but I don't know if the other end goes in with the motor towards the front or the back of the gator??? Can anyone help? Thanks

Hello According to mine cylinder's engine must face rear of your Gator

I too have a 6x4 Diesel Gator. The Bed stopped working. Is there a way to release the lift so I can get a look at what is going on under there?

Put a real hydraulic dump system like Kubota RTV and do away with that POS JD system that I have heard so many complaints about. I have had my RTV 900 level full of rocks and it dumped just like it was empty. With the pump capacity on the Kubota, you can nearly catapult the rocks from the bed with the engine idling.

Yeah John Deere system really sucks!! i dont know why they didnt kept the AMT system!! I think that system was way better than the crappy electric system. BTW i did had trouble wih my dump box and the only way i figured how to free the box was to twist my hand under there and remove the upper retaining pin.
