2016 Kubota L3901 HST with LA-525 front loader
Hi all,

The manual for my Kubota LA-525 loader is pretty clear, with the exception of one thing. It says that in addition to all the grease zerks, I should also grease the "loader control linkage" (or something similar- the manual is in my barn). When I look at the loader control, it's not immediately apparent to me what specific part they are talking about. I've seen some other posts about greasing the linkage. Some say that I should remove the plastic cover and use a can of spray grease to lube what I find in there; others don't say anything about removing the plastic cover, but advise me to just aim the grease can from below. I find it difficult to imagine that Kubota would design their products to require disassembly in order to perform routine lubrication, but I don't know anything. Can someone, ideally a mechanic, shed some light on this topic? Pics would be helpful.

Control linkage is your "joystick" for your loader. There should be some rods and heim joints in there, or something similar. A blast with some Fluid Film or white grease should suffice to keep things smooth and rust free. You shouldnt have to disassemble, just spray form the bottom (at least on the BX). if you have to remove a cover it probably wont be that bad either, remember, you only have to do this particular lube a couple times a year at most (not every time you lube the loader, every 10h)

Arg-g-g!

Thanks VaBee & Scooby, I didn't know there was some "loader control linkage" that needed periodic service. Am going on 5 years of usage and never though about it. Maybe I'll remember to look into it next time greasing.

I wouldnt sweat not doing it OB. Lubing that linkage really isnt a super important service IMHO. Its more just to keep things loose and prevent corrosion. Plus its in a pretty sheltered location too, so it doesnt see that much exposure to the elements (on the BX at least)
