My dad gave me a RTZ 42 with 180 hours. I've never had a zero turn but is it normal when you are going full speed to have to constantly adjust your line by pulling back on one yoke? It doesn't veer much but just doesn't seem quite "right". Thanks much and I sure glad to of found this forum!

BTW, I love the mower, I can do my yard in about 1/8 the time it used to take me.

I am fairly mechanically inclined so don't be afraid to give me details.:D

Each side has its own independant hydrostatic pump, one needs to be adjusted so when both levers are fully foward you go in a straight line. There will be adjustments on the rods going from the handles to the hydropumps control arm. Mike

Thanks, I'll dig into it this weekend.

That was one reason I didn't want a Zero turn. Have to have both hands in use.

It's common that the nose will want to fall towards the downhill, so you have to stay live on the controls. It becomes second nature over time. You do this with a 'steering wheel' but don't even think about it. Same with any ZTR, Skid-Steer, etc... Some of the simple things you can check is for consistent tire pressures, and front caster wheel bearings.

My husband just purchased a used Cub Cadet RZT today. It has a 50 inch deck. It seems to be in good shape except one of the little deck wheels on the front is missing.
He was told the machine is 2 years old. It shows 236 hours on the hour meter. He paid $1500.
We received a sale paper from Home Depot today with the same mower for $2999.
Did he make a good deal or not?
This will be our first Zero Turn Mower. We currently own a John Deere L130.
It takes forever to mow about 3 acres around our home some of which is rough and uneven.
Does anyone have any thoughts or hints about maintenance and usage of the RZT?

Thanks for any replies!

Price sounds reasonable. Hours might be a bit high for that age but it shouldn't hurt it if it was maintained well.

rzt good for 1 acre or less should have found a z force.

I'd let about 2 acres of that 'go to field'.
