I was changing my oil in the front axle and found that only the center and left side will drain, the right side axle housing would not drain. I assumed it was empty! So after all the oil drained out, I started adding 90 wt gear oil, manual says 3.2 quarts. At two quarts, it was Full!! and right side axle housing still won't drain....so now I figure the right side is full of old thick oil and is plugged up.....suggestions??? I have two good quarts of oil in the axle, If I drain it all out to dissassmble right side I was going to screen it and reuse it.

Observation......I have been have trouble with gear clashing when shifting from 1st to reverse. I was told to check for clutch free play...which when I did, I found I had about 1 inch which is the correct free play. So while waiting for my axle oil to drain, I took a closer look at my clutch free play.

I found that the free play I was finding was due to the play in the pin located in the clutch lever. And in fact, I did not have the free play in the clutch lever. I want to share that with anyone else having a clutch issue, make sure your free play in in the lever and not just in the pedal. Since making the adjustment, I have not had the gear clash problem.

Happy Yarmarring!!

I'm having a problem understanding your clutch problem. If there was no freeplay in the beginning, that should have given max disengaging of the pressure plate and possible clutch slippage. Increasing, (adding), freeplay should have decreased pressureplate disengaging causing more gear clash.

Once I pulled the pin that connects the clutch pedal to the clutch lever, I found that the lever will move further in the direction of dissengagment. While I was having clutch pedal free play, it was the pin moving inside of the hole in the lever. My assumption is that the lever was not being fully pulled back to a full dissengement point due to the the pedal hitting the floor board. Now I have about an inch of free play in the lever. Hope that helps explain it better. It appeared to have worked......perhaps I will need to drive it longer to determain if it is fixed once and for all.

I see it now, due to the loose pin you were losing "carry" to the pedal and it was bottoming on the floor before complete disengagement. Someone apparently adjusted out the freeplay trying to compensate for the loose pin. If everything is in good working order now, you could go with even less play, 1/2"-3/4" is sufficient and will reduce gear clash even more.

I have had a few "serviced from the importer" tractors with grease pumped in the front hub. After digging it out and putting the proper fluid in, it ran right back out through a bad seal. That model is much harder to get apart than the later models ,to see if that isn't the problem, but it might be worth while now rather than later.$$$$$$
