Seriously looking to buy the B7510 but in reading the Kubota forums someone stated the Kubota MMM has some problems but did not elaborate on the problems. Can someone give me feedback about the MMM for the B7510. When I talked to the salesman he tried to steer me away from the mmm saying it cost more than the rear mount. I really want the mmm and not the rear mount. I was quoted $12,500 base price for tractor with FEL. SirNy

I have a 7610 with 352 loader and 60" MMM.

My neighbor has a BX with 52" suspended deck. I have to say that his lawn does look slightly better and I think the reason is that not all of the grass depressed by the 7610 ground contact deck's wheels fully springs back up before being cut. My guess is that high lift blades would likely make this minor issue go away. Its such a minor issue that the thought of purchasing high lift blades has not even crossed my mind.

I paid slightly over 15K for my setup which included rear weights. The weights were around 250 and 7610 w/ 352 loader was about 1000 more than the 7510 with 302 loader. If your quote includes the MMM, it is much cheaper than what I was quoted for a 7510. If it does not include the MMM, I think your pricing seems high.

sirny -

Like Koz - I too have a B7610 - except with a 54" MMM. I actually prefer the mowing finish to the the Sears Craftsman 38" riding mower it replaced!

I have had zero problems with my MMM this first season of ownership - it's built very tough and I expect it will last for years (heh - that's the plan anyway with buying a CUT!). I've accidentally whacked some rocks while mowing - and no problems. Of course, I've now dug most of these pesky rocks up with my FEL - so should not be a regular occurence going forward.

*********************

I think the main decision between MMM and RFM is one of manueverability. If you have wide open field / lawn to mow - then I think a RFM is a better value (don't have one so can't comment on the cut quality - but I think its even) as it's much less than the MMM price. Because the RFM extends the length of the tractor, I think it limits your turning ability in tight spaces - however the advantage is you can back it up under overhanging branches etc. - where you could never go with a MMM.

I find my B7610 to be quite *nimble* - really! With the power steering - and HST (no crappy mechanical shifter!) it's actually much easier to drive / mow than the old Sears rider! The only downside of the MMM is attaching / removing it if you want to do FEL work, for example. That being said - I have worked out a system where I can remove my MMM in @ 5 minutes - and reattach in under 10 minutes - so it's no big deal. (Check out some pics I have on website by clicking link in my signature to get an idea)

I decided to go with a 54" instead of 60" MMM for better manuevering around trees / gardens / rocks - luckily there's a gate I can just squeeze through too - wouldn't have made it with a 60". For my 2-3 acres of mowing, I didn't think the extra 6" width would dramatically improve my mowing time (now @ 1 hour vs. 2 1/2 hours with Sears 38" rider).

Like Koz mentioned - I think a B7610 runs @ $800 - 1000 more than a B7510 - but I wanted the higher FEL loader capacity of the LA352 - which is only offered on the B7610 / B2410 models.

Pricewise - I think the B7510 w/ LA302 for $12,5K is about what I was quoted this past spring - and then it was an additional @ $2,200 - 2,300 for the MMM - so I'm guessing @ $14,800 total for a B7510, LA302 and MMM. I think the RFM are less than half the MMM price?

The Kubota prices seems to vary several $1,000 depending on region / state (even when figuring in taxes) - your price quote seem similar to what I received in Massachusetts.

Hope that helps - and no MMM problems to report here.

I have a B7500 and 60" MMM and the only thing I do is grease it every 4/5 time I mow (once a month). I replaced blades 2 years ago and will again by springtime.

I've had my 'Bota ... I guess three years in June, and I've got 350+ hours.

The good is pretty darn good. A true lawn mower will cut better in most cases (smaller width the more even the cut, and the weight, etc). The only time I have issues with the cut is when there's a little moisture.... the grass don't lift as high as when it is dry.

RFM vs MMM. Whatcha gonna do the most? If mowing, go with the MMM. It takes less than 10 minutes to put on/take off a MMM, and I'd bet 5 minutes on a RFM. A RFM you have to tire marks cause you mow behind the tractor, but you have to swing WIDE and in the learning stages around objects YOU WILL bang into something....it happens.
